Import from Microsoft Project:

When importing from Microsoft Project, all new tasks must be created in Microsoft Project. 

To import from Microsoft Project and assign a task, follow the steps below:

  1. Log into Kahua and select the project.
  2. Click 'GO' and then on 'Schedule'.
  3. Click 'Sync' and choose the Microsoft Project file.
  4. Click 'OK' twice and the tasks will appear in the list.
  5. To assign a task to a user, select the task.
  6. Click 'Edit'.
  7. Select the 'Responsible Party' and add other information as needed.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Select the task from the list and click on 'Assign'.


Import from Excel:

This option is meant for a one time import. Once the content has been imported, tasks should be added or deleted from within the Schedule app. To start over, an administrator can delete the tasks. This approach has limited fields compared to Microsoft Project.

To get an import sheet in the correct format, go to the Schedule app and click on More > Export.

Click 'OK' on the export prompt.

Select a location on your PC where you want to save the file.

Click 'Save'.

 

Manual:

Tasks with date information can be created manually. An import from Microsoft Project is no longer possible once a manual process is underway. An administrator can however delete all records which will allow for an import via Microsoft Project or Excel. This approach has limited fields compared to Microsoft Project.
