With our 2019.7 release (October 19, 2019) we have updated our integration with DocuSign to support DocuSign's Autoplace Tabs. Autoplace Tabs disable the DocuSign Fields toolbar (see below) and enables the recipient of a document for signature to click to sign, date and/or initial the document.
When a recipient receives a document with Autoplace Tabs, they will have the ability to simply click to apply their signature and/or initials. The date is automatically applied based on the current date when the user is viewing the document.
Each tab placed in the document allows the next user to sign in the indicated space. For example, This document has two signature lines. After the first person in the approval workflow has signed, the second recipient is prompted to sign on the next line.
This is accomplished because the portable view template has autoplace tabs for two signers. In the example below, observe that there are two sets of portable view tokens for the signature, initials and date. These work as follows:
|[Signature(SignatureIndex=1)]||Places a signature for the first recipient of the document|
|[Signature(InitialIndex=1)]||Places the initials for the first recipient of the document|
|[Signature(DateIndex=1)]||Places the date the document is signed by the first recipient|
|[Signature(SignatureIndex=2)]||Places a signature for the second recipient of the document|
|[Signature(InitialIndex=2)] ||Places the initials for the Second recipient of the document|
|[Signature(DateIndex=2)]||Places the date the document is signed by the second recipient|
Note the pattern used to increment the order of the tokens. As you place the tokens in your form, incrementing the number (e.g. [Signature(SignatureIndex=1)], [Signature(SignatureIndex=2)], [Signature(SignatureIndex=3)], etc...) will create autoplace Tabs for each signer of the document based on the order of your approval flow.
The tokens that create the Autoplace tabs work in both Word Portable View templates as well as Stimulsoft portable views. The available tokens can be found in the Common Tokes tab of the Portable View configuration. For reference the portable view template used in this article is attached.
