Any email can be sent into the Kahua system from any email account regardless of whether the sender is a Kahua user.  Kahua's inbound email address is inbox@kahua.com.  When an email is sent to this address, Kahua will analyze the email and check the email addresses in the To, Cc and From fields for a match with a Kahua user account.  If a match is found, a Message is created from the email and placed in the appropriate user's Inbox or Sent Items in Kahua. 

To send an existing email into Kahua:

1. Navigate to your personal or business email account program (Outlook, Lotus Notes, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)
2. Select one or many emails
3. Select the Forward action
4. Enter inbox@kahua.com in the To, Cc or Bcc fields (add any other recipients as appropriate)
5. Click Send

To send a new email into Kahua:

1. Navigate to your personal or business email account program (Outlook, Lotus Notes, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)
2. Click the New action
4. Enter inbox@kahua.com in the To, Cc or Bcc fields (add any other recipients as appropriate)
5. Click Send

Once the email is received by Kahua, the system will analyze the email and see if any of the other email addresses in the To or Cc fields match a Kahua user account. 

  • When including inbox@kahua.com in the "To" field of an email, a message will be added in the Kahua Messages Inbox for you and any other Kahua users listed in the "To" or "CC" fields
  • When including inbox@kahua.com in the "CC" field of an email, a message will be added in your Kahua Messages Sent Items and any other Kahua users listed in the "To" or "CC" fields will have a message in their Kahua Messages Inbox  
  • When including inbox@kahua.com in the "BCC" field of an email, a message will be added in your Kahua Messages Sent Items.  The email will not be included in any other users' Messages app.

Users can choose not to receive inbound emails in Kahua.  A user can change this option in the My Profile app.  The default is for Kahua users to receive inbound email.
