Users are granted access to File Manager folders in Kahua in two ways:
- At the application level
- At the folder level
When a user is granted permission to the File Manager app, they will inherit that permission for all folders in the folder structure. However, folder permissions can be adjusted allowing users to have different permissions at the individual folder level.
To adjust an individual folder permission, do the following:
1. Log into Kahua, and navigate to the appropriate partition
2. Click Apps and open File Manager
3. Select the appropriate folder in the log list, right-click on it and select Properties
4. Click the Permissions tab
5. Select the group to modify the permission
a. To create a new group, first go to the Groups app
6. Click Override and select one or many roles for the group being modified
a. The actions a role can take are listed next to each role
7. Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for any other groups, if necessary
8. Click Save
