June 2019 Release Notes

In addition to various performance improvements, user interface updates and error corrections, this release will also include:

Desktop Hosts

Grid Redesign

We have continued to update the look and feel for in-app grids, typically found as Items tables in Cost Management apps.  The grid will now include an option to expand out the items, displaying the items on the left side of the screen in a log and the details of the selected item on the right.  This aligns with how users work within records today and allows users to seamlessly move between and edit items. Users can click on an item on the left log view, or move between items using the ‘Previous’, ‘Next’ and ‘Done’ buttons on the top right of the detail pane.

Multi-Edit / Multi-Delete

In multi-edit mode, users now have the ability to copy a single value for a record to the same attribute for other records in the overlay.  There are four methods of updating the data:

1.    Right click the value you want to push and “Copy To All”

2.    Select the records you want to change, right click the value you want to push and “Copy To Selected”

3.    Click the value you want to push and click “Copy To All” action

4.    Select the records you want to change, click the value you want to push and click “Copy To Selected” action

Additionally, the following apps have been updated with support for Multi-Edit and Multi-Delete:
Issues
Daily Reports
Punch List

Kahua will continue to add this functionally to more apps in upcoming releases.

Project Directory App

Kahua is introducing the Project Directory app, which allows users to define any and all participants on the project.  There are two sub apps within Project Directory, one for People and another for Companies.  When the release is complete, all domains will have this app available, with members of the Domain User group provided with the Administrator role and members of the Domain User group provided with the Contributor role for both Project Directory People and Project Directory Companies. The contacts in the Project Directory are a subset of the Contacts app; therefore, the person or company must already exist in the Contacts app prior to adding to the Project Directory.  In addition to providing the ability to track and report on project participants, the app allows you to modify group members and manage external sharing, provided the user has the rights to do so.  Furthermore, in almost all other apps, our contact selects in other apps have been updated to only show contacts that have been added to the Project Directory.  This helps streamline selection of contacts within apps but also provides the ability to select from all contacts by unchecking the "Only Show Project Directory People" checkbox.

Project Sharing App

Kahua has added a new sub app to the Share Manager app called Project Sharing.  This app allows users to share multiple apps at once and allows the recipient to accept the shares via one task instead of a separate task for each app being shared.  By default, only Domain Admins will have permission to this subapp, however, it is recommended to provide access to all users.  When setting up project shares, users will only be permitted to initiate shares for appsfolders that they have permission to.  So for example, if a user has Administrator for RFIs but Observer for Punch List, the user will only be able to share RFIs via the Project Sharing app.
